The first Art series stamps which featured the paintings of old Singapore were released on 5th December 1971. This old paintings featured on this stamp issue are - View from Fort Canning 1846, View from Singapore Waterfront in 1848 to 9, View from the sea the waterfront in 1861, View from Mount Wallich in 1857, Scene of The Padang in 1851 and Scene of Singapore River & Fort Canning in 1843-7.

Youths of Singapore

A series of stamps commemorating the youth of Singapore, which made up more than half of Singapore's population in mid-1970. They were regarded as an important human resource for moulding to meet Singapore's future challenges.

XII South-East Asian Games 1983

Issue date: 28 May 1983

A set of four postage stamps will be issued to commemorate the 12th South-East Asia (SEA) Games to be held in Singapore from 28 May to 6 June 1983. The stamps are in four denominations and they depict the four major areas of sports in the Games Programme; namely, ball games (10¢), racket games (35€), athletics (75¢) and swimming ($1).

The 25th Plenary Session of Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East stamps were the first square-shaped ones, each depicting a symbolic representation of industrial and agricultural production printed in red, blue and purple background colours - 15cents in blue, 30cents in red and 75cents in purple.

Bridges of Singapore

Bridges are erected since time immemorial for use as passageways by people, animals, vehicles, etc. In Singapore, they form an important and integral part of the Republic's extensive communication network. Four of the most well-used bridges in Singapore are now depicted in a set of four special postage stamps to be released for sale on 15 March 1985.
