The fifth issue of the Singapore '95 Orchids Series will be released on 15 Mar 95. The stamps and miniature sheets in this series are released in conjunction with Singapore '95 - the first World Stamp Exhibition to be held in Singapore in 1995. Proceeds from the sales of this series will be used to fund the mega-event that can be compared to the Olympics of the stamp collecting world.

Even the deaf have their own forms of greetings for each other. In this stamp issue, we are featuring 5 different greetings in sign language that are commonly used among the deaf community in Singapore - Hi, Welcome, Thanks, Good Bye and I Love You.

25 Years of Nation Building

Singapore achieved self-govermment on 3 June 1959. Over the years she has made extensive progress and developed into a nation that is one of the communication and financial centres in the world. Now 25 years later we celebrate Singapore's quarter century of nation building with an issue of six stamps each of which depicts a stamp within a stamp and all highlighting the representative areas of development in the island-republic.

The "Flowers of Singapore" special stamp issue was released on November 8, 1980, commemorating the 10th Tree Planting Day. The set of 4 multicolor stamps features common roadside and tropical flora, with values ranging from 10¢ to 75¢. The flowers featured on this set of stamps are ixora, allamanda, skyvine and bougainvillea.

World Communications Year

Issue date: 10 Nov 1983

1983 is designated as the World Communications Year. To commemorate this international year, a set of four stamps depicting various devices and structures of the modern-day communication systems, will be issued on 10 November 1983.
