Stampin' The Future

There is probably no better way to look into the future than through the eyes, hearts and minds of children. Singapore Post participated in a worldwide youth stamp design project inviting children from age groups 8 to 12 years old to express their visions of the future on drawings in 1998. The four winning drawings by Gwendolyn Soh, Dawn Koh, Shaun Yew Chuan Bin and Liu Jiang Wen were adapted into a set of four stamp designs.

The colours of nature

A special stamp issue will be issued on 19 April 95 to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of Singapore. This commemorative stamp issue is fitting as Singapore has made great strides since Independence in 1965. Inspite the land constraints, and of being saddled with seemingly insurmountable problems like unemployment, low income, housing shortage and industrial disputes, Singapore has come a long way, and is today one of the Asia's models of urban modernisation and efficiency.

25 Years of Independence

Fragile Forest

It is estimated that over 10 million species of plant and animal live in rainforests. Though they cover only 6% of the Earth's land surface, they support over 50% of the planet's plant and animal species.

The familiar Orang Utan, endearingly referred to as Ah Meng, will once again be star. This time, on 30¢ postage stamps. Sharing the spotlight are the Sun Bear (20¢ stamp), Slow Loris (75¢ stamp) and Large Mouse Deer ($2 stamp). Together, they make up the caste for the Animal Series - Southeast Asian Mammals issue scheduled for release on 13 Jan 93.
